Delhi Sealing : Jugaad brings the real life trauma on silver screen
Delhiites may have forgotten the “sealing drive” of 2007-08, but it still remains fresh in the minds of those who lived the experience.
This week’s release ‘Jugaad’ also has Delhi as its backdrop. Directed by Anand Kumar, who earlier made ‘Delhi Heights’, ‘Jugaad’ brings alive on the silver screen the real life trauma and upheaval caused in the life of Delhi-based businessman Sandip Kapur after his business establishment was sealed by the authorities during the sealing drive in the Capital last year.
Featuring Manoj Bajpai, Hrishita Bhatt and Vijay Raaz in key roles, ‘Jugaad’ is the real life first hand experience of Sandip Kapur, a successful CEO of an advertising agency, whose life fell apart when the Municipal Corporation of Delhi locked the doors of his advertising agency.
Delhi-based businessman Sandip Kapur brings to the screen a hilarious re-run of his traumatic days, when they sealed off his business establishment. The film, titled ‘Jugaad’ (temporary settlement), is Sandip’s trauma presented as a fun-ride!
Director Anand Kumar has always come up with good music for his films; the tunes of ‘Delhi Heights’ were just fabulous. The ‘Jugaad’ album too has its share of good music. Krishna and Sachin Gupta have shared credits for the music. ‘Tu Hai Rab Mera’, which has a Sufi touch to it, is the pick of the album.
