Delhi Master Plan goes in problem
The proposed Delhi Master Plan 2021 appears to have run into trouble with politicians contending that it does not include suggestions offered by them during various meetings held with the DDA.
Acting lieutenant governor A R Kidwai on Wednesday met politicians, including New Delhi chief minister Shiela Dikshit, with the elected representatives taking exception to the fact that their suggestions were not incorporated in the forthcoming master plan of Delhi.
After her meeting with Mr Kidwai, Ms Dikshit called an emergency meeting of the cabinet on the issue and sources said a special assembly session is likely to be convened in mid-January to discuss the master plan. “Our suggestions to provide relief in Lal Dora areas, urbanised villages, Gram Sabha land, schools operating from residential areas find no mention in the amended master plan.
Mr Mishra complained that none of the 7,000 suggestions from the public grievances committee and DDA board of inquiry had recommended were included in it. According to him the MPD guidelines were faulty with no relief accrued to the people whose needs have increased over the years
