Delhi traders go berserk on streets, docs join stir
Parts of the Capital were thrown into total chaos on third day of traders’ bandh against MCD sealing when police lathicharged traders in an effort to clear a major roadblock in East Delhi.
Traders, threatening an indefinite stir, took to the streets in large numbers, blocking important intersections and causing traffic chaos on the final day of their three-day bandh.
Health services in the city are also likely to be affected as private medical practitioners and nursing homes joined the trade bandh.
Delhi Medical Association (DMA) President K K Kapoor, however, said emergency services will continue to be operational.
Turning out in huge numbers, traders and BJP activists staged a huge demonstration at ‘Noida Mode’ intersection in East Delhi, creating a massive traffic jam.
The agitators punctured the tyres of a buses, that added to the traffic chaos.
